First of all, ever since I started using the convertible carseat instead of the infant seat, Lilah HATES THE CAR! She fights against the straps, screams SO loud when I am buckling her in, it seriously sounds like I'm breaking her arm. I thought she'd be more comfortable in it because it's bigger, roomier....but no. Anyway, she has started doing this new "sound".....she's been doing it for probably 2 weeks now. It's AWFUL! It sounds like "mmmmmmmmAAAAAHHHHHHH". The "mmm" part is in a normal voice, then the "ahhhh" part is in the loudest, screechiest, shriekiest (is that even a word?!) voice ever. OMG. She does it in the car, over and over again because she doesn't want to be buckled in. She does it in her highchair (which we rarely use because she loathes it). She does it if she's angry about something, or just fussy in general. It is SO LOUD. And soooo screechy. I instantly feel annoyed, it's just one of those sounds that rubs you the wrong way each time you hear it.
Kary - that passed.....she was doing awesome in the car for a while. She'd sleep all the way to and from school drop off in the morning, same in the afternoon, and on long trips home to my parents house (3 hrs away) she'd sleep the majority of the time, or sit awake quietly for the most part. Now she screams 3/4 of the way to school in the morning, if not the whole way (and sleeps on the way home because she wears herself out!), same in the afternoon. If she's not tired and we need to go in the car, she screams the WHOLE way (not crying, just screaming/screeching out of frustration). I haven't been home to my parents since she started this, but I'm scared!
Boo For car screaming and screeching. Jo screeches sometimes, but it's mostly when she is agitated and only a one or two time deal. I actually think it hurts her throat to do it, she seems uncomfortable after she does it a couple times. I hope it will deter more of that! Hopefully Lilah adjusts soon and goes back to sleeping nicely for you in the car.
So it's almost 2am here, and I had to cover my mouth when I read your post because I started laughing(and Chase is Actually asleep for a minute!). I swear I'm not laughing at you! I was because I feel your pain. More often then not, Chase screams when you put him in his car seat. He hates to be buckled down in anything! He doesn't have one sound, just random screaming until he either falls asleep or the car gets going. I really hope this passes for you soon!
