So this morning started great...I work from home two days a week so today I got to sleep in and decided to just work from bed...then all H*** broke lose. Started cramping slightly (thought it was gas pains) - so decided to get up a minute....then gush (sorry TMI)

I decide to check it out and sure enough...brown pool where it shouldn't be. I immediately call RE and they tell me to come in for U/S.

Get to Dr. and I break down again. Luckily they were great and got me right into the u/s room. We see two babies, two hearbeats (both 168 bpm). But also see a large hematoma...

Finish u/s and there is blood every where and pooling at the bottom of the table (really...). My doctor was in surgery but they were able to talk to him and he put me on bed rest until Tuesday. I will go back on Monday for another u/s.

Evidently SCH (subchorionic hematoma) is somewhat "normal" but they take all precautions. They can't say what the outcome will be.

I had to change my pad before I even left the office! And now just praying that it resolves itself. I was supposed to drive home this weekend (6+ hours) to make my announcement to my family, so that isn't going to happen obviously (glad this happened before announcement I think??)

I went ahead and took vacation from work until Tuesday so I can just take care of myself. I am definitely scared even though I have already read a lot of positive stories on line....still scary to experience.

Please say a couple prayers that it resolves!

Hugs!!!!

I had a large SCH hemmorhage at 8w (was in a restaurant bathroom) and then a much smaller hemmorhage at 13 weeks.

It is so scary and there is very little information out there to help. There is a SCH support group on babycenter that helped me.

As for bed rest, that depends on your doctor. Mine put me on light duty (no lifting, etc), and pelvic rest till it was resolved. Mine was pretty big as it sounds yours is too, and was totally reabsorbed by my anatomy scan at 17 weeks.

I have a beautiful baby girl who is about to turn one.

PM me if you want at any time.

On gosh you sure had a crazy morning, I am sorry and do pray that it resolves soon. I have somewhat heard do them before and they do go away after a while. Take it easy in the meantime. Drink lots of water.

You and the babies are in my prayers. I am glad that you are taking the time off work and doing what the doctor said and just taking it easy. I have a hematoma. I started bleeding the day before my ultrasound, but stopped that same night. I had one other incident with red blood after I went potty since then but only old brown blood (which the doctor said was normal) since then. I really hope this corrects itself and you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Take it easy Mama!

Lots of thoughts and prayers! I had one with owen, tje youngest in my siggie. I bled like crazy for a long time, but he was perfectly fine! ! I've heard it can be better for it to "bleed out" than for the blood to stay trapped in there and irritate the uterus. I'll keep you and your babies in my prayers.
