Man, u really wish he'd quit doing this. He bites down and pulls back and shakes his little head around when he unlatches. I guess he can't figure out how to just let go because it looks like a struggle lol but omg it hurts and at that point I can't get my pinky in his mouth to get him off myself. To be honest- it's hard for me to get him unlatched anyway because his mouth is so tiny and so firmly clamped on!!

Lucas does this too. He's very serious about his sucking, my girls never hurt me like this (they had other ways of torture, lol). Since my milk started letting down faster and I'm generally leaking now when he starts nursing he has gotten better about not doing it but sometimes near the end he'll start tugging and chomping. Ouch!

I need my let down to get faster!! It's so darn slow!! Sometimes I can't even coax milk out myself to get him started!!! He's mostly stopped the biting but he still tugs and waves his head around like a puppy with a rope toy. Ugh. I sometimes wonder if my supply is not enough...but he's gaining well...I think?? 1/2 lb a week.

1/2 lb a week is normal gain, anywhere from 1/2 oz up to 2 oz a day is fine according to my midwife. It slows down more after the first few months, I think the goal is still double birth weight by 6 months
