Well, we finally announced on FB. It went really well. No negative comments, at least not to me personally or my husband. Only one minivan comment. My dh told them we have a suburban aka the Texas Cadi! I told my dh I would rather get an f250 or 350 and have it converted into an excursion before I would by a mini van! (no offense to those who have one, just not for us). To me they don't have the room my suburban has.
Also got a photographer booked (my 6yrs olds 1st grade teacher) to do gender reveal pics when the time comes. Going to go to a pregnancy spa that does early gender reveal u/s. Will be scheduling that the first week in Sept. I can't believe in only a month we will know if it will be a boy or girl!
We also got a couple of minivan comments. And like you, that is NOT an option. I am so not a 'minivan mom', lol. We also got so many 'boy' comments after we revealed and it annoys me so bad. I do not care either way what the sex of this baby is. I just want it to be healthy and full term! But so many people are saying "You NEED a boy now!" "I hope you add some more testosterone to your house!". If someone wants to say "I hope you have a boy this time!", fine. I dont mind that! But some people are being just too much. I want to say "Um, you're being rude and pushy. Back off!". This baby is love unconditionally, boy or girl! And if they only knew that my husband really wants to have another little girl.

Glad it went well! And I am so with you on the minivan, no way! We're in the process of shopping for a larger used SUV. I'd even get a big passenger van over a minivan. A minivan won't tow our horse trailer
SO great that you got a good reaction. And if people do have judgey opinions, great that they're keeping it to themselves. A lot more fun once it's out there!
I've been driving my IL's minivan. I hate that I like it so much. My husband is sure that I'll be the one to say I want one, but I am much to stubborn to cave. I caved on an SUV already... oh how I miss my little sedan.
And I always said no way, never getting a mini van, but I have to admit I'm more than a little excited to be getting one before the baby arrives! We're going to wait until the 2015's come out and then see if there are some sales on the 2014's.
