Has anyone tried this with previous children? If so was it accurate? I just tried it over my wrist and belly and it swung back and forth.... did it over my daughters wrist to see what would happen and it came to a complete stop! kinda freaky haha... But i'm hoping for a boy! So I REALLY hope this is accurate? Would be anxious to know what happend with anyone else!

haha that sounds pretty cool. How does that work? I'm all over these old wives gender predictions, etc. The Chinese gender predictor is a little more complicated since my birthday was on June 9th - it says if I conceived before my birthday it'll be a boy, if I conceived after it'll be a girl. So that doesn't help

They are all in good fun, i dont think their is any truth to them though. For every person who swears some test was right for all her kids, it was all wrong for someone else.

They sure are fun to try though!

I haven't tried the ring yet this pregnancy but it indicated a boy with Zachary. The Chinese gender predictor indicated a boy for Zachary and this pregnancy too.

The only predictor that has any science to it is morning sickness, but it's not always accurate. I read that it has something to do with the level of hormones, but less morning sickness can be a boy and more can be a girl. I wish I could remember where I read that article.

Now I'm really wanting to do the ring test

ohh I never said I 100% believed in it, I just think its fun to do and even more fun when they come out accurate ! what fun is it if you have no hope! lol .. But basically you just loop a string/piece of hair through a ring, hold it over the belly or wrist, and without moving your hand at all see if the ring swings back and forth like a pendulum(boy) or around in a circle (girl) .. the one with the gender of your children/how many youll have is to do the same but over your left palm.. touch your palm 3 times and hold it up, first child, touch palm 3 times and hold it up, second child, and so on until you touch your palm 3 times and it doesn't move... again like I said I dont think its an indication one way or another i mean its a 50/50 chance..haha .. But like I said... its fun to hope!

Oh it's definitely fun! I didn't think you believed it, either, but wanted to say that there is one wives tale that has something to it :-) that's all! I did all I could with my son and all but one said boy, I just don't remember which. I'll be doing them again soon!

What about the Shettles method? Can anyone tell if that was accurate looking back on their previous babies? With my son we did it on O day and he is a boy. That would make it true for him! Shettles states that BD a couple of days before O makes a girl, and right on O day makes a boy.

I believe in the Shettles method but I wasn't keeping track of ovulation the cycle I conceived. If I'm O'ed later like I think I did, I'm pretty sure this baby is a girl.

Now off to find myself a piece of string...

I just tried this for fun, went in circles first then seemed to go back and forth. So I held it over our dog and it went in circles! He can't be preggo!
