Dd1 is insisting she wants to share her room with her little sister. Her room is done in pinks with Hello Kitty so I'm thinking I will just leave that as is. However we are going to turn our spare bedroom into a playroom. Any ideas for decorating a playroom for 2 little girls?
Here's an idea. Just paint the room a neutral color, like a sand color or something like that. Then make each corner of the room something different. Like one corner can be a "kitchen", one can be dress up area, etc. You can buy those peel off decorations at home improvement stores (Menards) and sort of make different themes. Get them a play kitchen and watch garage sales for clothes that they can dress up in. Oh and maybe even an area they can play "school" in. I know your new little one won't be able to enjoy that stuff yet, but will sooner than you know. Hope you can figure something out or someone can give you a better idea.
You could paint murals on the walls. Clouds in the sky with a sun, some different flowers, butterflies, and trees and animals along the walls. Or whatever their interests are (princess theme - castles and such). Or you could even a chalk board wall (chalk board paint) with a cute frame around it, maybe even attach cork board to pin up their art? Craft stations, playhouse area, toy area, etc... I don't get to paint or decorate - just pick designs for bedding and window covers - so I need to live vicariously through ya'll lol!
I love the different themes in the different corners! We have a playroom but right now it is a mish mash of every toy they own...we do have a kitchen corner, although right now the room looks like a tornado went through it!
Those peel off things are great, I used them in both girls rooms.
