I'm miscarrying for the 3d time this year and have always wanted a dog. But even more so now. I just want to mother someone so bad. Here are some Shih Tzu puppies that are going to be old enough to join their new families in 2 weeks, and I'm so in love. My parents have 2 of the breed and I've wanted one for a long time, so this isn't completely an impulse thing and I at least have an idea of the commitment required.

Do you think it's a bad idea to get a pet so soon, or a good one?
Source of comfort? I know a furbaby isn't the same...

I think its a great idea. I know many of the ladies have gotten pets shortly after and it is very comforting. We recently adopted a Great Dane which did help my month not seem so sad. It brought a little joy to an otherwise very sad month for me. I think those puppies are adorable. Post pictures when you get it.
Are you getting a girl or a boy?
Names?

I love dogs. We currently have 2. Let me tell you that there is nothing better when you are hurting to have someone there to cuddle with. Dachshunds are good mothering dogs too. They become very attached and love their owners.

Then again, maybe I just love the breed.

Thats a great great idea! It helps heaps also. When i first had a missed abortion i got myself four parakeets and they help me now, year later, yet again. They are always cheerful and they sing every bad thought away. I love them for it. If it would help you too then why stop yourself

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of this. My baby girl left me 10 days ago at 25 wks. and my hubby n I went to a pet store to get food for my sons' hamsters a few days ago and I fell in love with this female 2y/o cookie colored cat and she was so playful. The adoption fee is really cheap but as I'm not yet back to work and inlaws live with us =( I couldn't even if I wanted to. But I'm glad I'm not too crazy!
