Monthly Rotating Grab and Go Centers
Use small, clear tote containers to hold the different items required for each center and clearly label. Each tote should be completely self contained and have all necessary items for each center.
Art Center – Choose a specific artist. Put in a sample of his work, drawing paper and art supplies.
Music Center – Choose a specific musician. A picture of the person and music to listen to keep with the CD player and some headphones.
Geography Center - Choose a specific country and have story books and reference books from that country as well as their ethinic music to listen to
Seasonal Centers – fill the box with activity pages and other activities that can be completed independently.
Sensory Center – Play dough, sand or other substance play box
Literature Center
(CTP Writing Center Prompts book)
a. Staple together file folders. Glue an information sheet from each different prompt on the front of the file.
b. For each different story prompt, insert a story idea sheet, the front cover for the book and several writing pages. The girls can then pull out the needed pages, choose writing prompt, create their own story and build their book.
c. Yarn (to create the books binding)

Letter Writing Center
o Fill with stickers, stamps, envelopes, gel pens, stamps, small blank cards and writing paper.
o Include a list of names of people that they can write to and their addresses and return addresses pre done on mailing labels. Attach to that a sample envelope showing how to properly address the envelope and where to place the stamps and mailing labels.
o Include a list of birthdays and materials to create birthday letters or cards
o A list of monthly holidays for creating cards – if its valentines day, provide valentines stickers, foam hearts, paper doilies etc.
