Just pick one method to learn for now. I recommend the simple cast on for beginners. (she calls it single cast-on at knittinghelp.com.. it's the second video on the page)

Or knitting-on.. as once you've mastered that you'll find you've already learned the knit stitch

I have a book at home that showed the slip knot ... doesnt look that difficult to do so think I can do that

I'll check out the single cast on at home since this computer times out on me lol

I'm going to go try the slingshot method right now as I am about to start a new project, nothing fancy just a two coloured scarf so there is no actual pattern. I'm just getting back to knitting after about a year's hiatus, and before that I had about a 5 year hiatus so basically I am starting from scratch.

This is a wicked and well developed forum. Way to go ladies I am so very impressed.
