There are ALOT of ways to bind off, the most used method is the knitwise bindoff which is the first one listed on this website. You'll find, in knitting, there are multiple ways of doing alot of things. It all depends on how your are comfortable and also what the pattern calls for. It is best, IMO, to learn the different types of bind off if you plan on making more complicated garments such as sweaters.
