Looking for advice. Just found out that my 3 week old little boy has a milk allergy. I have been breastfeeding and thought he had colic because he cries all the time. The Dr. did a stool test and found blood in his stool and diagnosed him with a milk allergy. Now he is on Soy formula. Anyone ever been through this? Did the soy help or did your little one also have a soy allergy? I have read that it is common to have both at this age. He never spits up and after his first soy bottle he spit everything up. Hoping this was just a coincidence.

I'm sorry, I have been MIA for a couple of days!! Having both is very common, you might ask your doctor about getting on nutramigen or alimentum(Basically the same thing, one is by enfamil and one is by similac) But if it is a true allergy situation, there is a formula available by prescription that is soy and milk free, but I can't remember the name of it. My ds1 is oldest and he was on alimentum; he has soy and milk allergies. But we didn't get him diagnosed until he was just about off of the formula. Good luck and congratulations on the new baby!!
