My name is Kelly, mom to DS Kevin, DD Marissa and #3 (Ava) on the way in about 2 weeks.
DS seems to have an allergy to about every known substance....(ok, not everything, but it feels like that sometimes) as well as asthma. We've been seeing a pediatric allergist since he was 11 months old and found out (the hard way) that he is severely allergic to eggs. Been going for immunotherapy shots (off and on, admittedly) since age 4, he is almost 10 now.
DD started exhibiting signs of a dairy allergy while I was BFing her, so I cut the dairy out of my diet and continued to BF her until the age of 2....no real problems to speak of ever since. Only been on anti-biotics twice in her life, she's almost 7 now.
I anticipate that the new baby to arrive will have the same dairy allergy, so I have already given up dairy as of 1 week ago, so that when my milk comes in, it should be reay to go for her.
Anyway, glad to be here, and hope to get to know you all

Welcome! My oldest ds is also anaphylactic to eggs and ds #2 is allergic to dairy & corn (that we know of so far). Good for you for eliminating dairy so you can bfeed. I've had to do the same, it's a pain in tha ##### but so worth it.
