My 6 year old`s lactose intolerance is back. We kind of suspected it & yep, it`s back!! He outgrew it at almost 3, & now, just over 3 years later, it`s back Pooh (literally hah). Good times for us over here.
aaw there's no reason to beat yourself up! We aren't doctors or pediatric allergists! We are moms..and a lot of times being in the every day routine we don't get to step back and see the bigger picture.
Holy cow! What a difference taking his Lacteeze makes!! We have definitely figured out the problem! Now to just keep reminding him he needs his medicine before eating anything, LOL!
Luckily, his big brother is good at reminding him! He is always looking out for him, telling people that they are both allergic to nuts (DS1 is anaphylactic, where as DS2 simply breaks out in hives), and that his little brother can`t have dairy. I`m so glad we have taught the boys about their allergies (DH has the same ones as well), and how to deal with situations as they arise (asking when being offered something, reminding parents at playdates, etc). I will always worry, & check things, & tell parents, but ìt`s nice to know that the boys are aware too, and as they get older, I get more confident in letting them go places alone, knowing that they know what questions to ask, what foods they can or can`t eat, etc.
