Danny had an ana reaction this morning. We wound up in the ER with throat swelling and facial swelling. By the time the dr got in there he was fine because we had given him the hydroxizine within 2 minutes of the facial swelling but the nurse plainly saw/heard it whichever way they tell. He had a hard time swallowing and kept saying his drink was choking him. :'( I have never seen him looking so pitiful....more scared, yes, but never more pitiful. His reaction was to the red 40 that we thought was just topical. It was and has been for weeks but all of a sudden it is ana. This is going to be a nightmare to work around. How can I work around red 40 cinnamon, eggs, soy, carrots, and tomatoes.
There is nothing to describe how awful of a situation that is. When Nate had his ana reaction it was just horrible. And he looked so awful. It's just something that is beyond describable. And so traumatic for mom and child. Nate had a bruise from his epi for a week too to add to it.... I'm sorry you had to go thru this. I hope you both are doing well....
I used to post under the name "mom2nate" by the way...so I've been around for a while, not new
You have been doing it for longer than you realize, and before you know it DS will start to know what he is allergic to. It is hard right now, but you will become more careful as time goes on and it will become just another part of your routine.
