Hi! My name is Kristin. I have 6 kids ranging from 16 to 3. My youngest has autistic like syptoms but noone actually thinks she had it. The Dr. suggested we take the wheat and dairy(caisen) out of her diet, so I did. Here is the problem, she is a very picky eater and will only eat cereal, which I carefully read, potato chips, corn chips and occasionally chicken if I feed her because she doesnt like the feel of it. Before I started the diet she was bloated and constantly constipated, TMI (pooping lil balls). Since I took the stuff away she has nice TMI agian sorry squichy sticky poop. When I first started the tied she had nasty sick baby smelling poop I guess that was from the detox but not sure. Any advice you can give I would appreciate. I feel like I am not feeding her well. She also takes a flinstone gummy and 3 omega 3 gummies a day(she hates them). She has taken to vanilla rice dream milk well. Thanks in advance
We are gluten free here, but not casein free. A lot of the gluten free stuff is dairy free too though. Have you tried gluten free pastas? Will she eat any of those? My dd loves the tinkiyada stuff. We liked almond milk better than rice milk when I was doing dairy free for a little while, but if rice milk is working for you then no need to switch it. We make a lot of things from scratch now. If you make things from scratch it's a lot easier.
Does she eat any fruits? other meats? My 4yo hates carrots, but anytime I make burgers, meatloaf, sloppy joes etc., I puree carrots and mix in. He never notices! She may come around to trying more food once she's tired of those as well. Can I ask what her autistic tendencies/symptoms are?
Is her poop oily or mucousy at all? That could be a sign of a soy allergy or another allergy. I would look into haveing her allergy tested since she is over 3 years old. It is a lot more accurate after the third birthday.
