I am now on to my 4th cycle and I have noticed one more thing about the method. Because it is only for around 10 days that you really need to turn the monitor on it gets hard to remember to start turning on the monitor again once the cycle starts! I think I missed my first test because I forgot to turn the monitor on. This isn't too bad because it was the first one that has always been a low reading, but I am a victim of habit. Oops
I am in the monitor only group. there is a formula related to the monitor's readings to tell you if you are fertile or not. During the first 6 cycles fertile period begins on CD6 and goes until you get 2 lows after a peak reading. If you don't have a peak, you are considered fertile until bleeding (I know it is very problematic but in this method bleeding = menses). You are not supposed to observe CM. You are to only rely on the monitor and test strips.
I'm still debating whether or not I want to participate in the study. I would be able to sign up next month. But now I'm wondering if we will be wanting to TTA for a whole year. I suppose there's a chance we might want to start TTC before I have completed 12 full cycles.

Just know if you don't complete the study they reserve the right to hold the compensation from you. Also, there is no guarantee that you would be placed in the monitor group. I have enjoyed the study, but at this point I know that I will not be TTC until August(ish) 2011 so I don't have that problem.
