I had moral issues with bc, and I didn't even know (cuz I had them before I became sexually active, when I was a teenager) that Catholic's didn't believe in bc, when I found out I was like, well see, my church believes too! And then there have been more and more reasons over time that I have discovered.
I was tired of having to rely on a string of doctors (who tend to ignore me, and treat me like a moron who doesn't know her own body) to "help" me TTA. Thomas and I were both tired of my wonky side effects, and I was really psyched by the concept of not having to be on hormones any more. Not to mention, I'm totally into FREE!
I read about the pill causing long-term problems and actually physically changing your cervix and uterus - very scary to me! My sex drive was pretty much non-existent on the pill, and I lost my job/health insurance so bc was going to be expensive!!
We first heard about it because of our faith, but after learning all of the health risks/side effects of all the other options I was totally sold on it. It is so respectful of how our bodies are supposed to work, I dig that.
