Hey ladies! Here's my situation: my little girl is now 9 weeks old and I'm breastfeeding but also pumping. It's almost been 2 weeks since all the postpartum bleeding has stopped so I'm trying to get my BIP down.
I've had mostly dry days w/ a slight discharge that my instructor and I decided was probably my BIP. However, 3 times in the past 2 weeks I had one day of mostly wet with small amt. stringy discharge. My instructor said I need to keep charting for a few more days but she thinks that the mostly wet days are part of my BIP as well. These days are totally random and never lead to anything. Usually followed by dry days. But the problem has been that I'll have like 3 dry days and then another wet day so I finally get my 1,2,3 days counted and then bam, another wet day and I have to start all over. I'm getting very frustrated!

If you are BF or remember charting when BF is this normal? Even though it's wet can it be counted in the BIP?
Thanks!

This is 100% normal and typical of BF charting! Those wet days probably are part of your BIP, it's normal to have more than one BIP observation when you're nursing. Yes, wet can definitely be part of a BIP when it's part of an unchanging pattern. Hang in there! It just takes a bit of time to establish the BIP at first (to be very sure it's your BIP), then it should get easier.

I am not really much help, but I feel for you. I didn't start charting till AJ was 7 months old (breastfed with one supplement of formula) and we avoided that whole cycle (I got my AF back right away after my PP bleeding stopped). It can be very frustrating. It was hard to get out of the TTA attitude when we began TTC! LOL!

I am currently 4+ months postpartum and my chart is totally all over the place (I am bf'ing). So it is normal!
