Hi! I am new on this board, but no, I did not know about NFP when I was younger. I was taught that if you didn't take the pill or use a condom, you would get pregnant. Lol, I hate using condoms, and the pill makes me sick and gives me migraines, and pulling out almost seemed like a waste, so we started using the rhythm method, or NFP.
No, I was always under the impression that NFP was the ol rhythm method. Even when we got married we didn't look into anything because we wanted a baby right away and I didn't really think about it. I keep laughing because after I had my son, we weren't preventing but I wanted them at least a year and a half apart. After I got my first period we abstained for like 5 days around day 14 of that cycle...again, I'm thinking of the old fashioned rhythm method! Well, 2 weeks later should've been my period but I figured with breastfeeding I wasn't going to get one. Well we dtd and looking back, we were camping and I remember thinking while we were hiking how wet I felt all those days of camping! Looking back, I was ovulating and was super fertile then! And I didn't even know it because I knew nothing of the importance of CM. 9 Months later we welcomed #2~! Ha, I'm so glad I did some research about NFP after that.
