Not new to JM but completely new to NFP. First of hi my name is Emma My SO Chris and I have been together for 5 years and we have 2 children Jaelah (3) and Oliver (11mths).
I'm not sure if this is the right board or not I'm pretty sure it is... I would really like to learn how to chart as I'm pretty clueless on all of that... I'm not TTC but we are possibly WTTC and I'd like to get the hang of it all, get to know what its all about before when we do TTC and also be able to stay off hormonal BC using NFP.
ETA: I have PCOS not sure if that matters or not. I had a CD 46 last cycle so not as bad as some (that was the longest its ever been). I'm on CD 3 of this cycle now.

Welcome! This is definitely the right place. NFP can be used to TTC or to TTA, whichever you like! I'm Shawna, certified Billings Ovulation Method teacher. What type of NFP are you hoping to learn?

No I've stuffed my chart up si I have no idea if I've ovulated.. weird question can you get a period without ovulating or must you ovulate for it to come? I feel like I should know this

Yes, you can have a period without ovulating - but you wouldn't consider it menstruation. If you bleed without ovulating, the bleeding itself could be related to ovulation - so you consider it potentially fertile and count 3 if TTA. Or you can have a withdrawal bleed too, meaning the hormones come crashing down after trying so hard to make ovulation happen.
