My first cycle learning BOM - my son was 7 months old and I'd had AF just about monthly (give or take some days) since my PP bleeding stopped and I EBF the first 2 months. My first BOM cycle was 142 days long with 4 "AF". My second one - when my son turned 1 year was 122 with 4 "AF".
PM to see if I am available to make a siggy - decisions will be made on a case by case basis.
So, when you said "AF", were you saying you didn't ovulate but still had a period? So that still counts as the same cycle then??
Yes. If there's no Peak and you have a bleed, it's an interruption to the Basic Infertile Pattern and not the start of a new cycle. The reason for that is because it could be related to ovulation itself, so you abstain and count 3 (Early Day Rule #2). With a true menstruation - one that follows Peak, there is no need to count 3 after.
Here are two sample charts that show non-menstural bleeding episodes.

I ovulated, so for me this is really AF, I've never actually had any non-postpartum bleeding that wasn't AF as far as I know. I may have had a cycle I didn't ovulate, but not that I've charted...so it has been a while since I had if it has happened.
