Home of the Pope Paul VI Institute, Creighton Model, and NaProTECHNOLOGY

My friend send me the link above with this message:

Christina,

I finally got my act together and looked up the information about that fertility doctor I was talking about. His name is Thomas Hilgers and his fertility 'methodology' is called 'NaProTECHNOLOGY.' You can read about his clinic at this link: Home of the Pope Paul VI Institute, Creighton Model, and NaProTECHNOLOGY I have read some articles about the success rates and they are pretty amazing. Also, I have heard about his methods at my fertility charting websites where you can chat with other people who use the site. Girls who couldn't conceive (many with PCOS) and then using his methods were able to conceive naturally.

Hope this helps!
I don't know anything about the Creighton Method and I can't find much on how this NaProTECHNOLOGY works.

They are very, very good! You would have to learn a new system of charting though. Dr. Hilgers then uses the chart as a diagnostic tool to figure out why conception isn't happening for you. Their whole philosophy is to investigate and treat the underlying problem so you can conceive naturally, rather than trying to over-ride the problem with fertility drugs or artificial reproductive technologies. There is a time and place for things like Clomid and such, but he really gets to the bottom of what the problem in order to determine if that's really the most appropriate course of action or not.

I saw a NaPro doctor for my PCOS and she was very thorough. She also helped my sister overcome her heavy bleeding problems that left her severely anemic on multiple occasions. All the other doctors she'd ever seen said her only option was a hysterectomy at 24!

That is great to hear and makes me want to cry all at the same time. I don't know if I want to learn ANOTHER way to chart. I also have to consider costs. Seeing that particular doctor is out because he is on the other side of the country from me. And I haven't heard of or found a doctor who supports NFP around here. Doing a little search - and yeah - no NaPro doctors anywhere near Houston.

Another brick wall. I am almost ready to move to Canada and camp out in your yard Shawna - so I can see all these doctors you see. Or I can go live in a hotel in Oklahoma and see Dr. Martin IRL. I haven't emailed her again - Thinking about it makes me want to cry - I just don't know what to say and I have to get my BOM charts so that I could send her them. I haven't emailed her in over a year.

Hmmm, they weren't on the website I looked on that was connected to the official NaPro website. Based on the phone numbers I think those are inside the Beltway and my car won't make that trip. I will have to talk it over with Tony and see if my Insurance will cover it.
