Welp i finally started my period!! 56 days after not taking the depo shot.. Time to pull out the old thermometer! ill temp for a few months til my period regulates..

my Q is for those of you TTA... How many days before the big O and then after, do you not "do it" or use protection for?? just trying to get an idea as to what everyone else does.. it will still be a couple months before we do anything with out protection

It's been a LONG time since I charted (just started harting again last Sat).

If I remember right, I knew my O dates to a "T", and I wouldn't DTD 3 days before, and 4 days after after I got my confirmation that I had ovulated. Having four days of dry-up was my indicator. I guess it was roughly a weeks' time without DTD or having DH pull out WAY before he was to ejaculate.

I don't use O predictions to figure out when to DTD or not. I track my signs of fertility each day and go by that, because the time of ovulation can move from cycle to cycle. We follow the Billings Ovulation Method rules for TTA. It all depends on what my CM is doing in terms of when to DTD before O, and we wait until the 4th day after the mucus Peak (close to O).

The 4th day after you confirm o I think is what most people say, though I've heard 3rd too.

I use BOM to avoid as well so same as Shawna.
