So ive been trying to temp this cycle (first cycle since starting my period again after having a baby) I am still breastfeeding.. and shes still not consistently sleeping through the night.. mostly.. but she will inconsistently wake up during the night.. and then ill usually get up to feed her sometime after 5 am.. then she goes back to sleep until 7-7:30..

so anyhow.. i TRY to take my temp right before i go to feed her.. but sometimes its 5, sometimes its 6:30.. and sometimes i havent been asleep long .. like ill get up to help my first DD with going potty at 4.. or eva cries at 3:30 and i wake up for it even though im not the one that goes in to her before she eats..

so i am not sure how accurate my temps really will be..

i feel like i Oed on CD 13 but my temps havent reflected that at all.. so i may not have really Oed at all...

anyhow.. think its worth temping??

You can track your fertility using mucus only, but it's really important to learn a system of charting that specializes in mucus only. And it's also really important to abstain according to the rules for that because barriers/withdrawal/arousal fluids can interfere with the accuracy of the mucus observations. So since you prefer FAM, I would continue to temp because the mucus observations alone may be somewhat compromised. Just do your best, hopefully you'll still see a pattern when ovulation finally happens!

While breastfeeding I really loved BOM because it is a mucus only. Overall I LOVE BOM. I hate temping. I hate having to remember. But I do it now because we are TTC so desperately.

It isn't worth temping if that is ALL you're doing, cuz temps won't help you avoid, but my temps are all over the place when I'm breastfeeding, however, you can still obviously tell when I ovulated, and my situaiton is much like yours, not the same time, etc.
