I often hear my friends TTC and such saying their doctor wants them to loose weight to help them concieve, etc. Do you think your current weight is effecting your fertility healthy?

Let me put it this way, my cycles went wacko when I was heavier. Now that I have lost weight, they are evening out quite nicely. Granted I am sure that I would have been able to get pregnant if I was heavier because I did in fact ovulate.

LOL When I weighted less in HS I had HORRIBLE cycles - super short cycles and pains that made it hard for me to move. I ended up going on the pill because they couldn't find a reason why my cycles were doing what they were. I went off the pill the month before I got pregnant with AJ and I weighted the same amount that I weigh now.

Weight is very hard for me to loose and KEEP off. I lost 40 lbs a couple years ago (hmm right before TTC) and it didn't stay off. Didn't change anything and it came back faster than it took me to take it off!

I've lost about 25lbs this year, but still have about 20 to go. I haven't seen any improvement in my cycles though. Yet.

I have never been able to relate my cycles to weight at all personally...in fact I had really normal cycles after I had Courtney and not after I had Rock and I weighed more after Courtney, go figure, lol.

I was always really regular in HS but I can't say now....I've only had one period in 2 1/2 years!!!

I don't know but I know I am about 10lbs heavier than I was the last two times we TTC and I wonder if it is affecting things. I just don't know.

I'm 5'8 and my weight in high school was 155. My first year of college I ballooned to 175, and now I weigh 125. All that fluctuation and I've never even been pregnant, lol! My cycles have been regular no matter how much I've weighed, but since I haven't tried to have a baby yet, I'm not sure how it's affected my fertility.

I was super heavy with Caleb and I got pregnant with him. With Zoe, I weighed less than I did with Caleb and still got pregnant.

So, I'm wondering if the weight has to be at a morbidly obese stage or a soon to be anorexic kind of stage in order for fertility to be effected.
