Other than NFP/FAM what other birth control methods have you used and how did they effect you?

First I was on a low dose estrogen based pill. Killed my sex-drive and got cramping in my legs. Switched to Nuvaring because it was lower estrogen, same side effects. Switched to a progesterone only pill. Still no sex-drive, learned that it was practically an abortion pill because it doesn't suppress ovulation. Switched to Depo because I was told it did suppress ovulation. It was horrible. I ended up in the hospital with severe stomach pains. Got misdiagnosed. I took myself off of all medications despite my doctors threats that I would end up in the hospital again. Nothing has happened since I got off all meds so I am very happy with FAM now.

I've never used anything except nothing and NFP, well rythum method for a little bit, but anyway, I have some questions for anyone who's used an IUD if anybody has...my friend hasone and I'm convinced the weird stuff she's having is from the IUD, but with no personal experience I wanted to see if anybody else has had her experience...

The pill - lost sex drive
Condoms - I am allergic to spermicide though so that didn't work either

NFP is supported by the church and I don't have the lost sex drive or the horrible side effects from the condoms. Heck - we may not use NFP till after baby #4 arrives and I use it till menopause.

I was on OrthotriCyclen Lo. Had absolutely no sex drive while on it, and 6 months after my last cycle on it, I still have no "pattern" to my CM. But the sex drive is almost back to normal. DH & I are happy

I was on TriLevlin 21 and I had very low sex drive and was depressed. Once I discovered the Church's teaching on ABC I discovered NFP and the changes in me were immediate and amazing. I've never looked back!

We've never done anything but NFP - just 3 different types though! Doesn't sound like I've missed much. LOL

I've been on a smattering of different pills since age 18 to manage my endometriosis. Three low-dose ones (including Ortho TriCyclin Lo), Seasonale, and Lybrel. They each killed my sex drive and resulted in low mood and anxiety. It's so good to be BCP free!
