Rebecca here. I didn't even realize there was a forum specifically for this. We have 3 l/o's. 8 y/o DD1 3 y/o DS and almost 10 m/o baby girl.
We do NFP bc we steer clear of chemicals when we can and this method of BC is just another reflection of that.
Currently I'm BFing and will continue to until DD2 is around 2 (give or take depending on her needs at the time). I have not had AF and probably won't for another few months if this situation turns out anything like the last two children.
I had DH buy some spermicide for just in case but we usually DTD spur of the moment so I don't get around to it.
Of course, if we were entirely against having an oops we wouldn't be so careless. We want one or two more babies in the future but want to wait to TTC until January 2014. We prefer the children spaced apart in age.
Ideally I'd like to get a FRFM but those are costly. If I had AF I wouldn't be as worried about an oops bc I'd know when Ovulation was coming but being that it goes (1st Ovulate then AF) an oops could happen.
Well, sorry for the long intro, got carried away. Look forward to learning from you ladies.
Welcome to the gang! There is a form of NFP that uses the ClearBlue FM actually, it's called the Marquette Model. They were giving away monitors as part of a study at one point, not sure if that's still on. Marquette University | Natural Family Planning
When I'm not BFing I just chart and use pull-out. This time around I will probably use Spermicide suppositories as a backup. Problem with those is how messy they are during the *activity*. Ideally I would like to try the marquette method especially since it would aide in the TTC process we would like to do in 2014.
