How in the world can my LP last just 7 days?

TCOYF says I O'd on CD 26 and AF showed day after CD 33.

Hmmm, Idk. I've had a 7 day one though...recently actually...everyone tells me it is cuz I'm breastfeeding, there seems to be a blinkie in your siggy that implies you could have the same reason?

It's normal while BFing and during the first 6 cycles after weaning to have a short LP, but it's a bit unusual because your last cycle had a normal LP. Usually the LP starts off short during the first few PP cycles you have, then gradually gets longer until it reaches a normal length. It could actually be implantation bleeding. That usually happens 7-10 days after conception and can be heavy enough to mistake for a period.

I had a screwy cylce like that last June or July. I think my LP was something like 8 though. I also had the CD 21 progesterone testing done that cycle and I didn't ovulate until CD20. It read my progesterone was so low it indicated I likely didn't ovulate (prolly cause I just did or was about to when I did the test). Anyway, that's how I know I didn't O earlier and miss it.

I thought IB was supposed to be light and almost like you could miss it.

This is day 3 of this period. It's not been too bad as far as flow goes and I haven't had any cramping.

I think "supposed to" is a set of words you should throw out when talking about pregnancy. Supposed tos in pregnancy:
1) If you bleed you either aren't pregnant or miscarrying
-Tell that to Courtney
2) Morning sickness goes away at the end of the first trimester.
-Nope I've thrown up from morning sickness as late as 30 weeks and never had it completely go away in like 2 of my 4 pregnancies...and really all 4 in some ways.
3) You feel less hungry at first.
-Whatever from the date of conception I'm starving.
4) You feel the first kicks in the 2nd trimester.
-Well, I've had them felt obviously in the first trimester in 3 of 4 pregnancies.
5) Your braxton hicks shouldn't be regular and increasing intensity
-Well, explain that to my complete insanity at the end of pregnancy...
I could go on for about 100 just off of me...and that isn't all the other people who've broken supposed tos...so don't let that get you...just see where this all takes you.

I guess I should discontinue the use of tampons and test?

A test might not be accurate quite yet. You don't start producing enough hCg to be picked up in a urine sample until a few days after the baby has completely implanted. Not sure why you'd need to discontinue using tampons though, if it's heavy enough that you need one.

No, it's not heavy enough that I'd need one. I used 2 today though, because we went swimming. I've been using pads and have used maybe 2-3 a day since it started. When do you think I should test? The bleeding seems to be tapering off.

I always would recommend the full 14 days after o just because people seem to get positives that don't end well before then a lot more frequently.

Based on your chart, I'd give it another 6 days before testing.

Today has been just spotting. It's been 3 days of bleeding, 2 of which had actual flow, the rest has just been spotting. I started spotting yesterday afternoon.
This has been the shortest period I've ever had my entire life. My periods usually last 4-5 days or more.

Sounds about right. Implantation bleeding can be heavy enough to mistake for a period, but it's typically described as being earlier and shorter than usual.

Another big fat clue into the mystery would be your temps. What have they been doing? Did they drop below your coverline or are they staying above it? Are they rising?

I was wondering this, too.

I stopped taking it when the bleeding started because I assumed AF had showed early.
I've been nauseated a bit, craving foods and am bloated (even thought the bleeding stopped) and usually when AF is around I'm not bloated by the time she goes away. Last night I was nauseous, dizzy and had a headache and took a 3 hour nap. That was so nice! For the past few nights I've been sleepign with less clothing w/ the AC on and waking up feeling hot/sweaty. Not that any of that really 'means' anything! lol

I dunno. I doubt it. If I do, it'd be in another week when symptoms should come on stronger.

Edited to Add:
I'm going to wait this week out and see how things look by this weekend. I haven't had anymore bleeding and have felt random cramping today.
