Hello, ladies. I'm Syri. I'm a newlywed young woman of 21, who is currently TTA. I'm training in using Creighton, although I've tried STM before, and had no luck due to low hormones.
Anyway, being a newlywed I'm veeery new to all this, especially well...sex.
Anyway. Heres my issue. I've been working on my semen eliminating excercises, but I'm having a lot of difficulty. We use a personal lubricant jelly, and it's very much needed. However, its making it very hard to successfully eliminate, and I'm getting very lubricative and stretchy discharge the following day, every day, and it's becoming very frustrating. Does anyone else face this challenge? how do you deal?
Welcome to the gang! We used to use Creighton as well, but I am now a Billings Ovulation Method instructor.
You might have to use alternating evenings only, rather than consecutive evenings. That way you have one whole day for the lubricant and seminal fluid to leave your body, and the next day to make your observations.
Also, have you tried using coconut oil instead of commercial lubricants? That can help a lot, but doesn't linger the same way that commerical lubricants can.
What does your FCP say about it all? Are you still on 2 week follow ups, or monthly, or what?
The problem is, I can't do that. If you have discharge the next day, you're required to note it on it's merits. if it has the charactoristics of peak type mucous, you have to mark it as peak, and do a three day count. at least, that's what the manual says
My instructor lives in another state, and I rarely see her. I live in a secluded area. I emailed her about it but haven't gotten a reply yet
I haven't tried coconut oil, I'll look into pricing. Also, could a hot bath after help to loosen a water based lubricant?

I'm not very familiar with Billings; my Creighton instructor is literally THEE only instructor in our area...and she's not technically IN our area, just goes through it.
She just emiled me back, and her reply was very discouraging. her only advice was to not use lubricants. In fact, she says instructors always discourage using them. Um...I'm sorry...but it's not gonna happen otherwise, it's just...not. least, not happily.
The Creighton rule is that you have to mark it as peak mucous becddause you just can't be sure it's seminal flui and lubreication; how can you be sure it isn't with Billings?
She should be following up with you by phone or Skype then. That's what my instructor did back when we did Creighton. It's really important to have the follow-ups.
Maybe she meant all Creighton instructors discourage lubricants. I am a Billings instructor and we don't discourage that if you need it.
With Billings, you assume that there will be some sort of moisture the day following intercourse from seminal fluid or lubrication. So the day after is always a WAIT day (during the pre-Peak phase), to allow all the fluid to leave your body so you can make accurate observations again. Then you have the next day to observe if you are still dry or not. If you are still dry, it's very unlikely that mucus began while you were observing wetness related to seminal fluid. When clients are first charting and have any uncertainty about recognizing the "Point of Change" - when infertility ends and fertility begins - they wouldn't use the Early Day Rules (similar to pre-Peak rules). They would wait a few cycles to become more confident in that before using the pre-Peak time.
But as Creighton is your chosen method, go with the instructions your FCP gives you. I would encourage you to book some sort of follow up with her, either by phone or Skype -to really go over your chart in detail.
I will try and book an appt with her. I'm not very satisfied with the attention we've been getting regarding our questions. in some ways she's very helpful, with other's it can seem more of a, Oh Well, too bad, response.
