What are the chances of conceiving w/o a period, and does the chance increase or decrease as time goes on?

This has happened to me before. We conceived #4 at 18 months post-partum while bf'ing #3 with no "warning" period.

I guess I'm paranoid about it happening again.

Chances are very high! You have to ovulate sometime and your body doesn't always give you a warning. I have gotten preggo twice after only 1 very brief period post partum.

In the first six months with exclusive breastfeeding and no period, the risk is very, very low (though of course, not impossible!!) After 6 months, yes, the risk goes up all the time. It is easy to catch the first egg down!

If you're very fertile and past the 6 month mark, the chances are high. Even higher if you've had any spotting. That said, the chances depend entirely on the timing of intercourse. If your signs show infertility and you're sticking to the TTA rules, the chances are very low. If your signs show fertility and you make the most of that, you could easily catch the first egg outta the chute! LOL

Thanks for the replies! I think I remember that the chance is around 6%, but I wasn't sure what the time frame for that statistic is, and my manual is out on loan.

I've certainly never done it, but I get AF back way earlier than you.
