I obviously did not ovulate before I had some break through bleeding.

my book isn't very clear on how to handle this with the online chart... so I don't know if I should go back and mark it is spotting rather than menses (cause it's not really menses), or leave it in an new cycle.

I have had to change my temp time by an hour (DH's schedule changed, so he gets up an hour later so my 3 hours sleep happens an hour later than last month)... should I just let it be a new chart for that reason?

The only problem with making it a new cycle is that if you do ovulate with this bleeding, it won't be as easy to see the thermal shift because your prior temps will be on the other page. But as long as you keep that in mind, you can watch for a shift anyway. Whatever you prefer is fine! Just be sure to consider yourself fertile while bleeding and for 3 days after. With a true period, you don't have to consider yourself fertile for 3 days after unless you feel or see some CM.

Yeah... I somehow had missed that in the first reading of the book but found it in appendix B... and then totally forgot tonight *sigh* So we've oopsed twice... He promised to help use his half of the brain to remember to use the gunk (lol).

I'll let the chart switch this time because of the time change, but I won't start a new one until I detect ovulation, I'll just use the notes section to chart the break through bleeding severity (I had trouble before with overly heavy periods when I wasn't on the pill, so I want to keep track of that even if it's not menses), but I'll be sure to think of it as one long cycle.

If things start to look odd, I will go in and remove the menses so the charts merge and give me a broader picture (and anyone else who's looking at it to help me)

temp jumped half a degree almost to my coverline from my last chart.. so I'm going to merge them afterall. The hour difference doesn't seem to make a change in the temperatures (I've noticed in the past my temp is always higher after 10:30am- meant if I had a temp, I often showed the fever while at work rather than before)

I think I read in TCOYF that you are supposed to create a new chart with annovulatory bleeding. However, I just had that last week, but only had it for two days, so I just kept it within the same cycle. I figure since I still haven't ovulated, it could happen at any time and it would be easier to see the trend if I keep the cycle together instead of starting a new chart. I think if I would have bled longer I would have started a new one though.

the book says that you can start a new chart, or you can just tape two of them together to make a longer one. But I'm not paper charting (I may start that soon too, since we have access to a printer right now, just so I can learn to do it incase we were to be with out net.

I just wasn't sure how to handle it with the online one. My bleeding didn't last long for the heavy stuff, but I spotted for ages.

Yeah I don't paper chart either because we don't have a printer. It is just easier for me to keep track online. On FF, when I put that I was bleeding it started me automatically on a new cycle, but I went back just put that I was spotting, so that changed it all back to one cycle. It just seems easier to keep track this way until I O at least once post bcp.

yup exactly. if my temp hadnt jumped so much today I'd probably have left it as it was, but if it keeps going up that could mean ovulation, and a new chart wouldn't detect it because it'd be so close to the start of a cycle.

between you and me, despite the fact Oing shortly would mean that I'd get another bleeding week soon, I'd reather O and get on schedule than sit in limbo?!

I've not really experienced an anovulatory chart. The only chart since my last baby that I had that I didn't confirm ovulation is the one I got pregnant on, so I know I ovulated
