So here I am CD83. I finally thought I ovulated last week, but I am pretty sure it failed again. I got positive OPKs and everything, but that also happened the month before and nothing. I am getting really frustrated. FF says I might have still O'ed last week on Wednesday, but I saw a major temp dive today (technically 8 dpo). It went way below the coverline and I didn't have any reason to have a wonky temp this morning. Got great sleep, was as warm as usual, not sick.

When it comes to charting, is there any reason other than failed ovulation for such a deep dip? Plus, I am getting some pretty serious cramps right now, which is mighty confusing.

I would love some help from anyone who might have some insight. Thanks a ton!

Here is my chart: My Ovulation Chart

Well, it does look like a thermal shift when it comes to your temps - but the CM pattern doesn't reflect ovulation at all. When the two signs don't agree, CM trumps temps. Now, that could just be because FF has a weird CM menu that doesn't accurately describe what's been going on.

Were you feeling really wet and slippery that whole time from CD72 - 80? Or was there a time you noticed a drastic change from feeling wet/slippery to suddenly feeling much drier? If yes, when was that?

If you did ovulate, then you're probably just getting AF. It's very normal to have a short LP for awhile after stopping the Pill, especially the first few cycles.

Hmm I didn't know that about the short LP! Good to know. Yeah I agree with you about the CM. I was literally having EWCM all the way up until Friday (CD78) and noticed it was just more wet than anything on Saturday, but it wasn't stretchy. After that I've really seemed to dry up in comparison. Until today's temp drop, FF was actually giving me solid lines for ovulation on Friday, but since it dropped today, it said I Oed last Monday. The weirdest thing is that I got positive OPKs on Monday and Tuesday. I know they aren't the most reliable, but it doesn't really make much sense to me to get a positive OPK on Tuesday, the day after I supposedly Oed.

I'm so confused! I guess I can just wait out the next couple of days to see if AF shows up, but nothing is really adding up so I am pretty perplexed here.

Thanks for your help, Shawna!

Well if you got pos OPK's on Mon/Tues and started to dry up by Saturday, I would agree with FF's original guess of ovulation sometime around Friday. That would give you an even shorter LP, but that's also normal. I've seen 4, 5, and 6 day LP's on post-Pill charts before.

Okay, that is really good to know! I'm not thrilled about the short LP part, but hopefully that will lengthen over time. It would make a lot of sense though, and I would rather have that right now than stuck here in limbo.

Thanks again

Yes, it should get a little longer with each cycle. No guesses on how long it will take to reach a healthy length as I've seen so many variations with that, every post-Pill transition is so different. But the good news is that this problem is usually temporary.

I have had a short LP a few times (after babies) but it always got better in a cycle or two.

Good luck Sammy!!!!

I figured I'd have a short LP after this too.. but it appears to be "normal" as long as I did infact ovulate when it says I did.

Thanks ladies! I am just hoping I don't go through another 80-some odd day cycle again. This has seriously been torture. I don't think there's ever been a time in my life where I actually wanted AF to be here. LOL. She still hasn't shown today and my temp is barely at my coverline. I am exhibiting a lot of pre-AF symptoms though so I am not giving up hope yet!
