Why can't I be a normal person? I was expecting AF this week, but instead she's nowhere in sight and my temp jumped this morning... we were naughty this week.. this could be bad if I do ovulate.

I think "normal" is a fallacy too. That's why the #1 law of NFP is: Every cycle is unique. I think FAM can borrow that law too.

lol usually I say that I'm not normal and I love it.. but I'd like to be more ovulatory normal.

The longest cycle I can remember having (other than anything post miscarriage) is 35 days... but usually I have key signs that the witch is coming (sore bbs for example)... right now I got nothing!

We had talked about switching to nfp because I react to one of the types of spermicide.. but I cannot imagine doing it now!

Only plus side is if I keep having wonky cycles, he agreed to start ttc earlier since we may have reduced chances to start with.

temp stayed up again...

ff has yet again given me crosshairs... I didn't agree with it last time, but I might be more inclined to this time

Yeah I hope my cold stays minor for a few days... after 2 days of stuffy nose I don't know how much I'll trust my temps

DSS has a wicked cold bug.. he shows up here last night, and today I'm stuffy and sneezing. I swear this kid ONLY gets the colds that are super crazy contagious. Not good for his step momma who has an auto immune disorder!

nope... *sigh*

I think I know why this is all happening, and there's not a darn thing I can do to fix it. When reading through my records I found out I do not just have a "slightly under active thyroid" as I've been told for the last 10 years. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and am not on my medication as I don't have a doctor down here. I was told if I went off my meds my thyroid should be good enough that I'd be ok for a year or so... when I spoke with my dr last week she apologized. She'd never received the specialist report, she'd just been going off my previous dr's notes.

All things considered, including the low temps I've been having, along with weight gain and swelling in my neck... my thyroid is out of whack.. which is probably why anytime I've gone off my meds in the last 10 years my cycles have messed up.

Well at least it makes sense, and makes me feel less reproductively broken.

eta: I cannot fix it because we just cannot afford more doctors bills. my Kidney stone cost us over 5k out of pocket that we'll be paying for for 3 years.

I really know how you feel, I went to the ER twice in November, I have insurance, and I just got an over $1000 bill, it would have been double that without my insurance though.

my actual ER bill itself was $2500, then $750 for the doctor who saw me (but the nurse deserved the pay!)... then an urgent care/uriologist bill and two radiology bills for reading my ct ($800 to read a ct and an xray.. I'm in the wrong field for work!)

I'm awake early, but snuggled in my bed.. temp is back up this morning. I'm going to wait and see what it is at 9:30.. but I plugged in my current and tcoyf still leaves the coverline up no way in heck I'm going to go above these temps with an unregulated thyroid unless I'm sick!

I agree with the old coverline, I'd put it somewhere around 97.4. Looks like there's just one fluke temp that isn't making much sense, but that's normal. The overall pattern looks like a thermal shift to me. Ovusoft will probably adjust things again in a day or two.

I just realized there are some settings that are not set.. like my BIP (which since I ALWAYS feel wet - should be creamy/wet... I wish there was a sticky/wet option), and to actually USE my cm... Why I didn't set that before.. I dunno...

temp is up a bit high... 98.3... when I finish fiddling and adding the details from my phone (I add notes, and then forget to do them for a week or so. oops) I'll put up a new chart.

If I discard the temp that looks wonky:

One day later than FF's prediction but since they're trying to get me prego.. that makes sense. LOL

You can set the BIP (once established) with Ovusoft? That's neat, I didn't know that.

So cool! Does it give you guidelines for making sure a particular observation is the BIP, or just let you set it to whatever you want?

let's you select what you want. there are only a few options. dry/dry sticky/sticky creamy/wet

and then for fertile sticky/sticky creamy/wet eggwhite/lubricative.

my bip is def something/wet I'm just not convinced it should be "creamy".. that's the only option tho. I always feel wet.. I go to the bathroom a lot thinking af started super early because I feel wet.. and there's NOTHING there (except a little moisture at my cervix)

That's too bad their aren't more options. Lots of women have a wet BIP, that's pretty common. I'm pretty strict with clients about making absolutely sure an observation is BIP though, before they start using those days for BDing. I would imagine the guidelines for that with FAM are probably different though.

I observe the 5 day rule. CD1-5 are "safe" as long as I had a temp shift the previous cycle. after that I'm considered possibly fertile. Then I follow Tcoyf's guidelines for when it's safe after O (it marks off 3 high temps then flips me to infertile).

Not that we're following any rules. I wont be shocked if I get slapped with an xmas bfp at this rate. 2 days prior to O we were very careless... I'm not sure he wants to wait, he keeps saying the only thing keeping him using the "crap" is our wedding. I've not bought a think for our wedidng other than a spool of ribbon. .I might be willing to make the trade lol

So even if you're still infertile for several weeks after AF, you still have to consider yourself potentially fertile just because it's past CD5? Interesting!
