So I'm TTC, and I've had fertile CM for a few days now. I don't think I'm quite to peak day, though, because I still haven't gotten a positive OPK. I've been taking b6 and drinking lemon juice to help out my CM, but now I'm having a hard time timing BDing. Do you think I should wait until I get a positive OPK, or take advantage of every day I have slippery CM? A few months ago we took advantage of every wet day, and I didn't O for a week, and I think I wore out DH. I don't want to wear out DH before I actually O, but I also don't want to miss my peak day waiting for a positive OPK that never comes (I've missed my surge a couple of times). Any thoughts?

I would say at least try every other day.

It's possible to miss the LH surge with an OPK. To maximize your chances, you don't want to BD too much anyway. That can actually work against you.
Once you notice wet CM, WAIT! Stop BDing! Wait until it gets to the point of being slippery, then BD again (every other day is fine while it's slippery). Be sure to BD at least once during the 2 days after the slippery CM stops too. A common mistake is to stop trying once the CM stops.

Alright, time to tell DH that we have to stop being so ambitious and have a little self control. It's hard for me to realize that we don't have to DTD every chance I might be fertile to get pregnant. In my head I understand the principles involved, but the other part of my head says "NO! You must BD every chance you get or you'll miss your chance!"
Thank you for your input, ladies!

This may be more obnoxious than helpful if you've had a hard time TTC, but the last 3 babies in a row we've only done it once during the fertile time, so it only takes once...with the one before that we did it a lot more than once, and the one before that I think was once or twice.

I think I'm going to O tomorrow or the next day. Even though I've felt wet all week, today I'm feeling REALLY wet and slippery. Plus, my OPKs are almost positive. It's funny how things can change from month to month. Last month I barely had a build up of CM, and this month I've had a ton. Thank you so much for the encouragement! Sometimes I panic because my mom had unexplained fertility issues (at least they assumed it was mom, they never tested my dad). But I know my tubes are open, I'm ovulating, and I'm producing fertile CM. It's just a matter of time until I get pregnant. I just have to remind my "crazy TTC" brain that 1 well timed BD session is better than 6 okay timed sessions and then burning out.

I think a lot of us take our mother's experience and put it on ourselves when actually sometimes maybe there were explanations for their issues that aren't involved in our lives. (I know this is true of me.)
