I have a confession. One of the main reasons I chose FAM for avoiding was because I thought it wasn't very effective and I was secretly hoping for an oops. Then I was really bummed when I found out it was actually quite effective. Fortunately, we were only avoiding about 6 months before we started trying. Am I the only crazy one?

Honestly? No you aren't because I felt the same way the first couple of months and some random times in between.

At the time the only three people I knew who used FAM had unplanned pregnancies. So 100% of the people I knew who used FAM got pregnant within a couple of months. I was really bummed when I started learning and found out they were just not following the rules and people who follow the rules actually succeeded at avoiding pregnancy, lol.

*raises hand* me me me.

And so far, we've been less than responsible and still no oops. *sigh* makes me wonder if there's another issue.. and he might make me wait 2 years to find out if there is!

Me too! lol. The biggest reason I used FAM was to get off bcp. However I couldn't help but secretly hope for an oops. LOL.

I felt the same way, but didn't know what to do with those thoughts. I mean, if I admitted that I had messed up a couple of times and was concerned by the lack of an "oops" then he would have wanted to stop using FAM or make triple sure of my lack of fertility before DTD. But I really wanted to count those cycles towards the 1 year count before getting checked out.

mine knows I worry, especially when we're careless because in the past being careless meant being pregnant. He also knows I'm not really trying to prevent. lol. He knows how to ask the right questions, and knows that I will NOT lie to him if he asks a direct question.

example:

do you want me to pull out? is a bad question.
Is it safe? is a good one.

I'd say no to the first, and answer the second honestly.

He did tell DSS that he could have a sibling next year, but that we might be away a lot still. DSS matter of factly told his daddy that I could come live with his mommy and his step dad so he could be with the baby. rofl. I love this little guy.

Thats cute, Ashley!

I chose FAM dispite my fears of the effectiveness. I only want one more and would like this to be my method of bc after another baby, as well. I dont want any oops!
