my bbt very accurately follows the temperature in the room if it's not constant. (It seems to be more sensitive after ovulation too)

Yesterday it was comfortable, abiet warm in our room while I was in bed. Today, cold as heck. Yesterday's temp very high, today's temp, just above coverline. I sleep better when it's really cold, so I cranked the a/c today after dh went to work... I guess I should have just slept fitfully, my chart would look more normal (my temp was 97.8 when he went to work at 5, and was 97.4 when I got up with my alarm, and I slept from 6 to alarm almost 4hrs with out budging).

Going to follow my cm for a few days. It has been VERY generous this month, easier to read by far (I'm guessing it's from giving up the spermicide) but it's just not reflecting my temperature. I'm curious to see if it stays dried up for a few more days.

I don't have that problem, but other ladies with this issue swear by temping vaginally. It just wouldn't be a good idea to switch mid cycle. Another thing is make sure you warm up your thermometer before temping. I just rub it under the blanket for a little bit until the metal part isn't cold anymore. It's also common to have a fallback pattern, where the 2nd day is way low, but you shoot back the next day. But yes, if you can't trust your temps, pay close attention to your CM. Looks like you'll be able to confirm O soon!

I actually temp twice now. One right after the other since I've had mornings where my thermometer has displayed "ERROR" because it was too cold. LOL. I believe those mornings my water glass also had ice in it.

I have thought about temping vaginally.. but I had a concern. I often doze off for the 60 seconds my thermometer takes to give me a temperature. I'd be afraid that I'd fall asleep, not hear the beep (cause it's not next to my face anymore) and hurt myself!

yeah my CM ended up wet and slippery again at supper time. So obviously haven't O'd quite yet.

Yup, Ovulation is in progress. Right ovary protesting like there's no tomorrow. So bad that sitting is like stabbing myself. I give it 2 days and the BB's start to hurt, and tomorrow I should see some spotting.

I'm letting it come this time though. usually I'd take something for the pain, but since I temp in about 8hrs, I don't want my temperature affected from a pain med (pain meds drop my temp quite a bit sometimes).

As much as I hate the O pains.. they're handy to have. They take the guess work out of everything a bit more.

My temp is the same way I've noticed. I do what Lucy suggested and just rub the end of the thermometer a little bit against my pillow right before I temp. I notice that it has helped make my temps much more consistent. Hoping you find a way that works for you!!

my temp is not effected by much. it's weird. i notice the time i temp and whether i get up to pee and go back to bed sometimes doesn't change it at all, if anything .1 or .2 but i do temp vaginally so, that could be how it's so stable.

i kick the covers off when i temp because i cant hear the beep under the covers. so the cold from my spread eagle and exposed lady parts keep me awake for those few minuets, i also usually pee right after so falling asleep again isn't so easy.
