People have mentioned stress delaying ovulation. Im wondering, can stress ever cause you to ovulate earlier than you otherwise may?

I wouldn't call it stress, but the first time I got pregnant it was because I ovulated super early. I'm not positive when I ovulated, but my daughter's due date was accurately changed to two weeks earlier, putting ovulation directly after the menstrual portion of my cycle or thereabouts.
My best friend had just moved in with me and our cycles synced up, like they seem to do. Mine seems more prone to change to fit others for some reason.

The time of ovulation can just move from cycle to cycle for no reason at all, earlier or later. It's how we're made. Stress can't trigger early ovulation though. Stress can disrupt the process when it's already under way.

good question! i dont know if it can cause the body to release an egg before it's ready because it has so much to do with hormones and building them up ect.

FF actually said i could have Oed between CD7-12, but thats why I don't use FF as my main chart, it's crazy sometimes.

I've noticed for me that stress doesn't seem to effect my cycle THAT cycle, it effects it the next cycle. Last cycle I had a lot of stress with the holidays/ travel/in-laws/etc, and I O'd right on time. This cycle I had no stress and I ovulated late.

The same thing happened when I got married. My cycle was perfectly normal at the height of wedding planning, but the next cycle, I ovulated 3 days early. I don't know if there's a "scientific" reason for it, it just seems to be how I work.

Thank you ladies I ask because 3 days into my cycle, I had an enormous, life and death kind of stress for about a week. Then cd12, after very little build up, BAM-EW CM like I havent seen before! Like, I stared at it for a minute kind of in shock. Its been like that for 2 days. OPKs have been negative but I was really just curious if anyones body has reacted to stress in that way.

Yep, this is what I always think when people talk about ovulation moving, that for me it just moves.
