I am ttc my 4th baby. We just started right after Christmas and more or less letting it be in Gods hands.
I have never had problems getting pregnant. We are planning on making more of an effort now as he and are not getting any younger lol.
I will be 35 next month and he in his 40's. My dream is that my 4th baby be born at home and have an all natural water birth. My third pregnancy was at a hospital all three were actually. I don't want this to be so clinical. I want to be in my own bed afterward and with my family. I have never had any complications either.
Where are some good place to go to for midwives, planning a home birth, water birth etc. I did breastfeed all three of my babies so I am not worried about that.
My husband has ADHD so we l are also planning no vaccinations. I did delayed vaccinations with my last two. I waited until they were three years.
I really really want to have as little medical intervention as possible.
Am I just wishful thinking at 35 years old this is a good option.

My first homebirth was my fifth baby (after four hospital births). If you haven't already, you might want to check out the homebirth board here at JM. The ease with which you can find a homebirth midwife really depends on where you live. Personally I'd start searching online and just asking around. When you get recommendations be sure to check up on references and potential legal issues (again, that depends on where you live). Good luck!

Yeah I have been reading a lot of local stuff. I am in Illinois and there are some laws. But I have found some amazing information. Even my hospital has a whole page on home births.
I am glad I am doing my homework now though. It sounds like I need to make my decision early.

Yeah, you really want to find the midwife and check with insurance and stuff first. My friend just recently had a baby, and she originally looked into home birth and found out in North Carolina (where she lives) it is illegal. I can't even believe the stupidity of that law...how can a home birth be illegal? That's like saying, cross your legs and hold the baby in, sometimes...they're unavoidable! WTH?
Anyway, that was my I'm annoyed by stupid laws tangent. I'm having my 5th hospital birth soon, but I did consider home birth with my 4th for various reasons. I know insurance sometimes won't cover them though, so you have to find out what the cost to you is.
I am blessed when it comes to what it would cost though. My husband does very well and we can pay for the home birth cash. I have seen that a home birth here can cost around 3500-4000.
He is really more anti doctor than even me. But his comes from living with ADHD and how for many years doctors didn't think diet helps and he is proof of that a certain diet does work.

Well, then if money isn't an issue you just have to find somebody who does it in your area, unless you are wanting an unassisted homebirth, but of course, that has no cost.
I would love to have a home birth! I have never liked hospitals and that clinical environment. I had a real phobia of needles for a long time though that is going away. Good luck with everything, and I hope it all turns out just how you want.
Gosh, I'm experiencing birth envy right now. Where I live is so backwards. You can only legally deliver in the hospital, and if you have a midwife, she has to be completely supervised by a doctor (so it's pretty much useless to have a midwife). Even birthing centers are just a floor in the hospital and they get really mad if you don't want to be hooked up to everything your whole labor. Somebody died in childbirth in my area about 10 years ago, and instead of dealing with it rationally they put all sorts of ridiculous regulations on it.
But it's really all on paper only, one of my friends is one of those lucky people that has like a half hour labor, and with her last one she didn't make it to the hospital in time, so she just delivered at home. What could anybody do about that?

I seriously want to know what idiots thought up these laws where you can't have homebirth? How do they think people were born in 1400? What about 500? Or you know 320 BC? I mean seriously?!
But yeah, what are they gunna do in your friends case, arrest her? I mean, seriously?
People die from all sorts of things, why do people act this way? I'm not a homebirth expert, but I really find it troubling when people have such issues with it. If you're educated and make that decision then good for you, and if your baby just happens to decide to come at home...well lucky for you, nice to not have to labor in that junk for a bed the hospital has
