We just finished session one of our NFP course, and I am going to start "officially" charting tomorrow. I have been unofficially charting my cervical mucus though for the past 2 weeks (had 2 days of CM, then the past 12 have been dry). I am breastfeeding and only 3 months post partum. I meet all the requirements for LAM currently. Well the past couple days I started spotting, very light. Just wondering if anyone knew what this could be? My cycle did not return after DD1 until 8 months PP. I'm hoping it's not that! Also really hoping it's not implantation bleeding (we DTD 2 days ago - first time in 2 weeks since I was charting), but I don't think that would be it since I have been dry as a bone?!

It could just be a sign of a change in hormones, however it means you do not meet the requirements for LAM no matter what it was (unless you could establish it was like a UTI or something.)

Spotting is considered a sign of fertility when you're post partum. Treat it the same as CM (abstain while present and until you have 3 completely dry days again).

It can happen when your hormones begin to fluctuate as your body starts to think about returning to full fertility.

Thanks. I haven't had any other episodes, and the spotting was so very light - it was brown and the only reason I saw anything was because I was checking my CM. I bet I am just one of those women who are super fertile despite breastfeeding! So glad we decided to start charting if that is the case!
