What did you do to your jaw?

Not a whole lot going on here. Finally sitting down to the computer to catch up on all things JM and FB haha. Also cranking the tunes while I do.

I hate moving, even if I love where I'm moving to. We'll be moving less than a quarter of a mile in a few months to a 2 bedroom apt in the same complex and I'm dreading it already. I feel for you girls!

Hope your jaw feels better soon, Christen. That really sucks

Not much going on here. Just got back from visiting my family in NY (upstate, not the city). It was nice to get out of the Alabama heat for a few days! But my luggage got lost, so hopefully they can track it down. It had my morning sickness drugs in it, so I am sooooooooo sick today.

It especially sucks because we still have a little bit of time before the move, and so I'm in that awkward phase where I can't pack ALL the things yet, but I don't want to wait until the last minute. Wedding planning is almost finished - we have less than 40 days to go! I'm kind of overwhelmed but also really excited - I'm sure it will all come together okay. I'm hugely annoyed at the bridal shop right now because they told us my dsd's dress would be in by the first week of July, and yesterday she called to let me know the predicted delivery date is July 13. We leave for Ontario July 15. She *will* need some minor alterations. I'm hoping it's just straps so that my MIL can do it that night or the next Saturday or something.

I hope that your jaw feels better, Christen!

Ugh, that really stinks about your luggage, Lucy. I hope you start to feel better today, and that your bag is found ASAP!

Oh no Kayla, I'd be losing my mind!

Oh Lucy I'm sorry!! Did you have any refills on it that you could get at the pharmacy?

I'm still packing. But I've gotten NOTHING done. I need to do something soon... I'm ready to lose my mind. I'm so lazy and feel so tired... *sigh*

It doesn't help that I'm trying to get enough amazon cards to buy myself my new digi cam. This means hours spent on my points sites... I'm hoping it will go on sale for Black Friday and DH will let me buy it out of our own money, and we can use the amazon cards for Christmas presents. I REALLY want a real camera. He just bought me a new one last year, so I feel bad.. but it's not as good as my old Fuji cam and I just can't get the photos I should be able to out of it.

You know that awkward stage does suck. Our last move didn't have that stage cuz we got the call on Friday that we were moving, and I needed to be at work on Tuesday (in a different state than I was living in). We couldn't pick up the U-Haul til Sunday, so we had it for 24 hours before we had to be driving. Talk about a terrible move...it was painful. But it avoided the awkward stage.

And Lucy, I noticed the morning sickness part of your message after I posted, somehow it didn't compute at first, I'm so sorry. I totally feel your pain.

We can't do a lot of packing yet.. I'm just trying to find all the non essentials (cause they totally exist) and get them out of the way. Tomorrow will be easier, since I can wash all his work clothing and get it sealed up (it goes in vacuum bags). We are gonna pack as much into the van as possible on Saturday, and then get the rest done early am on Sunday. I just can't wait to get the heck outta here!!!!!

We are going to a cave we went to last year. We don't know if we're actually going to do the cave walk this time, we are mostly going for the giftshop. We skipped on thigns we really wanted last year, since we didn't have an actual apartment to go to.. now DH wants a nice set of Geode book ends (I'm still not convinced these are needed... since our bookshelves will be totally full lol), I want a gemstone tree (wire tree with lil gemstone leaves) and we're getting Reme's mom one as a mother's day gift.

Oh wow, that would be crazy!

I think I'm going to power through another couple of boxes (the office desk drawers can be packed up and there's probably another box's worth of kitchen things we won't need immediately, to start) today. Last night I did all of the cleaning supplies I don't use daily. Other than that it's just the kitchen things I do use on a daily basis, clothes, and a couple things in our living room (computers, TV plus blu-ray player that we'll do the night before).

Sounds like you're doing well, Kayla! You'll be in your new place before you know it My packing usually goes like "oh crap, I'm moving in a few days and need to pack EVERYTHING" so good job getting it done!

Yes, I'm from New York but my husband and I live in Alabama. It's so beautiful up there and I like the weather much better (except the nasty winters, of course). I miss it. We'll hopefully be moving back up to the northeast in the next few years, though, when DH is done with school.

And I got my bags back last night! I hope my m/s lets up soon. I'm in my 2nd trimester, which is when it's supposed to let up, but it's only gotten worse the last couple of weeks Thank goodness for medications that can get me through the day! Did you always get bad m/s Christen?

Ashley, a gemstone tree sounds really pretty. Have fun on your trip to the cave!

I guess I'm odd, I love moving. it's a great opportunity to get everything really cleaned and organized. Last time we moved (from AL to upper MI) we had to fit everything we owned in the smallest (6x10) u-haul. We were a family of 7 at the time, we left behind all the beds, furniture, nearly everything. It was almost more like packing for a vacation than a move. And then we were three days on the road. It was quite an adventure! Even though we don't plan on leaving here, I've often thought I should pack everything like we're going to move, give the house a good thorough cleaning, and put everything back.

I have nothing going on today. I'm thinking I should get off my butt and do something, but I just honestly don't care about it today, LOL! Sad...

We are moving my belongings from Canada to the US this summer.... I'm honestly not looking forward to that part. Everything has to go from storage, to my grandmother's living room, be unpacked, cataloged, put into plastic totes (easier for border guards), packed into the back porch, then packed onto the trailer, driven 2000 miles, unloaded into the apartment and then unpacked and repacked AGAIN.

I really hope I'm pregnant for all of this. Means I won't have to do any carrying.

Totally has nothing to do with what we're talking about, but my 13yo SIL just posted pictures on facebook of her new lip piercing. She did it in class with a push pin Her parents don't know yet, but knowing them, it's not going to go well when they find out.

Ashley, for what it's worth, we moved my things last summer from Ontario to Georgia. The border guard didn't look at any of it - just asked what it was (clothes, some small appliances and generic belongings) and since they knew I was moving they didn't really look at it any more closely. Either way that sounds like a lot of moving!

I don't mind the process in and of itself - I just don't like doing it over and over again. I moved in 2009, then again last year and again this year - there's a good chance we'll move again next year, too. It is what it is, and I like the house we're going to, so there isn't a lot to complain about. It's just that season of life.

Lucy, that sounds awful! I had my lip pierced when I was 18, but I had it professionally done. It *still* hurt, and oral piercings have the highest risk for infection, so I can't imagine chancing it myself. I hope she heals okay!

It was crazy. Done with a 2 month old, a 17 month old, a three year old and a 6 year old!

That's how my moving is normally, not my last move, but I say I'll get it all done slowly and then nope, the day before I'm still running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
Yeah, actually the weather was what made me ask. New York and Alabama I think would have much different weather.
My morning sickness STARTS to improve at 17 weeks...well into the 2nd trimester, but I still puke through like 23 weeks all the time, and after that it is just random if I'll puke or not, but it never feels better. And yes, I ALWAYS had it, all 5 times. Part of why I'm SO DONE.

With only 24 hours to pack the U-haul and nobody to help us, we also left behind stuff! Glasses were left for instance, we were moving into my parents house "temporarily" (we now live here and they don't, so temporary nothing...) cuz our house was being rented, so we said we'd just use their glasses, etc.

Since I got married 9 years ago I've moved like 10 times or something, so I also feel when you move a lot, you have to hate it!

Oh, geeze. I can't even imagine!

Right now I'm taking a break from packing some of our dishes - we have two 45 piece sets, and I was going to pack one of them away since it's just going to be us here until we move. I kept the original packaging because it was organized into little boxes that fit nicely into one big box (per set).

As it stands, my dishes have either gotten bigger since November or I'm just really bad at this cardboard game of Tetris I'm trying to play in my kitchen with all of these little boxes.

So now I'm taking a brief internet break to avoid smashing things in frustration. I'm thinking I'll make myself a tea and give it a another try in a couple of minutes.

haha I'm on a brief internet break from cleaning, well I'm probably not going back to cleaning cuz in 19 minutes some lady from Mary Kay is supposed to come over. Somebody anonymously gave her my name and said she thought with my new baby I should have a special pampering package...but Mary Kay parties are scary to me, you have to buy things, I have no money to buy said things, so she isn't getting anything here.

I also should have lunch and feed the baby before she gets here, and well...I'm out of time, but my body is tired from all the cleaning I was doing since our kitchen should have been declared a disaster area the way it was this morning.
