my first chart. It's obviously not a complete cycle, but all of my signs point to a recent O (I used opk's as well, mostly as a back up cross-check). We're tta, but I'm just really happy that my first post-bcp cycle hasn't been all that crazy. I know that's subject to change, and with a move and a week long trip out of the country coming up my next cycle will probably be a lot messier, but I'm kind of proud of my current chart.

Here you go!

There's been one concerning thing - I *did* have a decent amount of EWCM but I also had at least a day of what the TCOYF and general internet research might be hostile cm. I took an antihistamine on Saturday night but don't remember which day the cm was different or how long it was different for. I really hope that it's just my body recovering from the bcp and it isn't something we have an issue with long term when we ttc.

You can't tell if CM is hostile to sperm just by looking at it. Only a post-coital test can determine that. *All* CM is potentially fertile until proven otherwise. After 3 cycles, you can determine if a particular type of CM is your infertile discharge (at a microscopic level, it will appear plug like...but at eye level it can appear sticky, cloudy, clear, stretchy, milky, anything!!!) Some call infertile discharge "hostile to sperm" by merit of the fact that sperm can't get through the plug in the cervix at that time; so they die within a very short time. The infertile discharge comes from little fragments breaking away from the mucus plug. It doesn't actually do anything to harm the sperm, it just doesn't do anything to keep them alive either. A post coital test evaluates how well the swimmers do in a woman's best quality CM; sometimes it can be "hostile" because she is having an autoimmune or allergic reaction to proteins in the seminal fluid. You would never know by how the CM looks.

And there's your Over Answer for the day.

Yeah, that's not something to worry about it. Even if you do end up having problems with CM, but have a normal O, there's dozens of ways to help your CM to become more fertile.

Thanks Lucy! That makes me feel better too. It's just my greatest fear that something will be wrong with me and we won't be able to get pregnant. I know that there are solutions and it's not a death sentence if something is wrong - it's just that so many other things in life have been/are currently battles, and it would just be really nice if something could happen without being drawn out and difficult, KWIM?

Thank you, though, ladies. I think I've confirmed O with today's temp. I slept in about 40-45 minutes today so it might be artificially a little bit high, but it was 97.73 and so even if it dropped .10 of a degree it would still fall above the cover line. That and the other signs all still point to O having happened that day.

On a related note, is it normal for Attain/TCOYF's charting software to round up even if it shouldn't technically be rounded up? I entered 97.73 and it's showing up as 97.8 on my chart.

I was afraid I'd be not able to get pregnant once upon a time cuz of my mother's fertility issues...5 children later...I'm more worried I won't be able to stop myself from getting pregnant again
