The Your Mother thread made me wonder, since there seem to be a lot of ladies with Moms who had hysterectomies. Since women who have undergone tubal ligation are more likely to require hysterectomy later on (post tubal ligation syndrome often leads to heavy bleeding and such), I'm curious now! My Mom is going through menopause at 52, without too much difficulty...no tubal. Her Mom needed a hysterectomy in her late 40's, tubal.

Mom had a tubal at 32 and had her hysterectomy at 51 due to recurring fibroids.

My mom had a hysterectomy at 29 due to endometriosis. It was probably unnecessary and she just had a surgery happy doctor. She didn't have regular periods and started getting back pain, so her doctor said if he took out her uterus, it would help with the back pain. Makes sense, right? She was later diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.

After her hysterectomy, her ovaries attached to her bowels and she had to have them removed as well. After that, her bladder and rectum fell and she had to have them moved back up.

It's so unfortunate that doctors were (and still are) so ignorant about endo. I was told that I needed to have a baby to "cure" it (keep in mind I first had symptoms at age 11) and if that didn't work then I'd need a hysterectomy... even though there are countless cases where neither of those two things got rid of the disease. Not saying they don't help some, just neither are the magic cure for the disease. I had to go to Atlanta for a specialist to finally get some relief for mine. It's so annoying. If a man at age 29 went to a doctor with back pain, and castration was what was suggested for relief, the world would laugh. Yet, it's scary how many women have lost reproductive organs because some doctor thought that maybe endo was causing symptoms and the only solution they know about is taking out the uterus.

My mom had a tubal when I was born and then a hysterectomy at 40 or 45 due to "uterine prolapse."

My mom also had a uterine prolapse and had to get a hysterectomy. As far as endometriosis, I had it and had laser laparoscopy surgery 8 years ago to remove it, and it hasn't come back. I've also never had trouble getting pregnant.

OK I voted hysterectomy, but no tubal...but Idk if I'd say that's true...I think I'm lieing...

She had a tubal pregnancy when I was like 10 months old, when they went into repair her tube (it burst) they tied her other tube without her permission, but there was always confusion and stuff since she hadn't asked for it, and she had it repaired or undone or whatever later because she didn't want just one child, but that's what she got.

My mom is currently going through menopause, no tubal. She is 49.
My stepmom just recently had a hysterctomy, no tubal (she and my dad have actually been ttc for years). She had the hysterectomy because she had horrid endometriosis.
