I was talking to my lacation consultant yesterday and she reminded me that she thought George was just riding my let downs. I thought we got over that hurdle when I was able to lower my supply, but she said she thinks he's probably doing it at night since he often swallows without sucking.

Anyway, my question is if he is riding my let downs versus actually nursing, would that mean I should expect fertility to return sooner? I got AF with my first three at 3-4 mo pp with my oldest three and am wndering if they did the same thing. #4 had a very stong latch/suck and nursed through the night untill we weaned at just over 12 I had 2 pp af's which occurred after having mastitis otherwise got af at 11.5 mo PP.

Given your history with earlier returns to fertility, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. If you meet the conditions for LAM, you can still rely on it while you wait to see if anything changes (spotting after day 56 for example).
