My answer won't apply for a few more weeks yet....but we will be doing NFP exclusively. FAM is less reliable than NFP, and we really need to avoid pregnancy for awhile. Also, barriers are against our faith - so even if they were more reliable, we wouldn't go there.

Well, I don't really know the correct terminology... But I am charting and as soon as the EW CM appears or any of the other fertile signs, then we get out the condoms. Hateful stuff... It has worked for 5 cycles now. And I am feeling so much better since I have stopped the Pill.

We are using FAM.... I'm using FF to chart my daily observations...

I really don't want to use any hormonal b/c, because after 9 months of my body being mental, I just want to give it a chance to be natural, and have some form of hormonal balance.... We're also using condoms during my fertile time.... which seems to have begun already.... just a few days past 3w PP...

We're doing the Billings Method, I guess that falls under NFP? There's a stash of condoms though just in case. I've been tracking my cycle and studying all I can get my hands on for two months now, and this is the first month that DH is willing to put some faith in it as well.

The reason is that two months ago I learned that the pill (which was previously our method of choice) doesn't only block ovulation as I was told, but that it only prevents ovulation part of the time and it also works to prevent implantation just in case an egg does escape and get fertilized. That wasn't okay for me as I believe life begins at fertilization and I couldn't live with the thought of possibly unknowingly aborting even one baby in my lifetime. I wouldn't even consider the option of an IUD, shots or implants, and I don't like the esthetics of diaphragms, foams, sponges etc.

Actually, that would be FAM (the Fertility Awareness Method). The Billings Method does not include the use of any barriers - it ceases to be Billings because charting accuracy and effectiveness are both compromised by barrier use.

Good point! So far they're just there as a stash just in case I end up being in a fertile time on a "special occasion"... or in case DH has a moment of panic. He's not 100% confident in this yet, because we have friends who had their first baby after discovering a method of "natural family planning". I don't know what they were using, but they were all excited to find it... but they were expecting two months later.

FAM. I have nothing morally against barriers. Usually I go with none through a cycle but at the same time I don't limit sex just because I am in my fertile period. If we ended up pregnant it would be our first and we would be happy even if it wasn't necesarily the timing that we wanted.
