My instructor is out of town right now.

Luckily I have you girls

Anyways to my question (billings method)

I had two days that were slippery, the second day was also stringy. So I wrote those down. Well when I went to my last meeting with my intructor she told me that if I do not bleed with in 2 weeks of the slippery days that I need to change my wording for that feeling, because that means I did not actually ovulate.

So it has been over 2 weeks and I have not bled. She said even spotting counts as a bleed but I didn't have anything. The slippery days were just like egg whites. So when I go back in and she sees that I did not bleed she is going to tell me to use a differant word for that, but what else would I use. Do you think it is possible I did not notice that I spotted? Or do you have any other advice?

I am kinda confused now?

Honestly, that advice sounds a little strange - but I'm not exactly sure what your instructor meant hearing it second hand, so I would encourage you to ask her for clarification about that.

It isn't unusual for a breastfeeding woman to have a little spurt of slippery mucus now and then that does not result in a Peak, so you would not bleed two weeks later. It's a sign that your hormone levels rose very high, but perhaps not quite high enough for ovulation to occur. If it was a true Peak, you will have noticed the following:

1. A developing, changing pattern of mucus over several days - getting progessively wetter and more slippery
2. The progression ends in a slippery sensation
3. After the last slippery day, there is an abrupt change - a drastic drying up

If the pattern didn't progress, it was just a few slippery days out of the blue - not a Peak. If there was no abrupt change after the slippery mucus stopped (you just felt a little less wet, but not drastically so) then it was not a Peak.

That may have been what she was getting at - that if you don't get your period, it likely wasn't a Peak.

Now, there are just two other things to consider.

1.Is the slippery mucus you describe something you are FEELING as you go about your day, or something you are SEEING on toilet paper? If you are seeing it, but not feeling it - don't call it slippery. Slippery is a very distinct feeling, and your instructor is correct to advice you to use a different word to describe what you feel.

2. Is there any possibility of pregnancy - any deviation from the rules? If a true Peak did occur, and you haven't menstrated by the time you are 18 days past Peak, it's time to consider pregnancy. If not a true Peak, menstration will not occur until after you do have a real Peak.

The first day was just a slippery sensation with no observation and the second day was slippery and stringy

Was there a build up in the days before that slippery one? Like you felt increasingly wetter and wetter, building up to that slippery day? And after the stringy day, was there an abrupt change to feeling much drier?

First of all, those two slippery days do not qualify as a Peak because there wasn't a drastic drying up afterwards, so Early Day Rules still apply.

As for the rest, I don't want to comment until I know if you have established a Basic Infertile Pattern with your instructor? If yes, what description are you using yellow stamps for?

I don't know if I understand your question right

but I was told to start using the yellow stamps on Feb 20th, before that I only used green stamps for dry days and white babies for wet days

Is "damp" more or less wet than "wet"?

Ok, you definitely did not Peak yet, so you're not due for your period either. Early Day Rules still apply while you wait for the true Peak to show up (which could days, weeks or months away - so just enjoy that BIP as much as you can!). When you go see your instructor next, she'll probably add damp/slight to your BIP too.

Those two days of slippery mucus were just a little blip on the radar. Your estrogen level rose enough to produce the slippery mucus, but not enough for ovulation and Peak to occur - it was just a little warm up. You might continue to see that from time to time while your fertility begins to return, it's very, very common with breastfeeding Moms and completely normal.

By the way, you're doing a fantastic job with your mucus observations; great charting!
