I have been documenting my period cycles online for almost 4 years now (since my last child was born). Really, all I am doing is letting it calculate when I am supposed to ovulate and I use protection for a week during that time (or abstain). All other weeks, I am cautious and really only allow true intercourse (with ejaculation) in the 4 days before my period starts and the first 4 days (dep. on flow, etc) that I am on it.

Now, I know this isn't the best way and there have been countless times I have taken that good ol pg test just to make sure. So far, in 4 years, no oopsies. But I am at the stage in my life where I don't want any oopsies either!

A little background: I tried the pill, patch, ring and I hated the idea of putting that stuff in my body. I tried the copper IUD and thought I may DIE becuase it hurt so much. I gave it three months and had it removed. That is when I started the mymonthlycycles calendar and tracking my period.

I am VERY regular....every 29 days to the day. I am also VERY fertile - or at least I was with my other two children. I have never TTC because with both kids, it took ONE TIME to get pregnant.

Any advice or help would be great. I do not live in an area where I can consult with a teacher (I am in the middle of nowhere), so I will just have to be self taught.

Let me also say that I have always had ovulation discharge and it is undeniable when I am ovulating.

There's always learning online or long distance. The Billings Method offers online instruction with a teacher via email, the Couple to Couple League and Northwest Family Services both have correspondance courses that they offer. A few books you can read on your own (not an adequate substitute for real life instruction, but the next best thing) would be The Billings Ovulation Method by Dr. Lyn Billings and Ann Westmore, and Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.
