So, how is your first month of charting going anyway?

It's going alright I guess. I'm only on day 8. I signed up to make a chart at woomb.org. That site is so hard to navigate, though! It needs a serious update. Is there a better organized one?

Yeah, I wish it wasn't so archaic too! Unfortunately, there aren't any better Billings ones - not instructional ones anyway. There are lots of better introductory ones, but in terms of the nitty gritty how-to pages, they all bump you back to woomb.org! LOL

www.nfpcharting.com is also just for Billings too, the first month is free. I find that a little easier to use than Excel for charting.

Did you read through this? It's very simliar to the little booklet we go over during the very first class and it might be a bit easier to read than some of those Woomb.org pages:
http://www.woomb.org/learningBOM/B20...nstruction.pdf
It's not meant to substitute for actual training, it's just the jumping off point for understanding the method.

If you need any assistance or want to be sure you're charting correctly and understanding the rules, don't hesitate to PM me, ok?

Yeah, I did go through that PDF. I actually have it bookmarked on my favorites to reference it. The PDFs are nice and clear on the site, but navigating is crazy. I still have to search around for my chart whenever I sign back in. It's such a funky site.

And thanks for the help! I'm considering getting one of their online instructors too. I'm looking forward to making this a lifelong choice.

I don't get it - there's a place at woomb.org where you log in to YOUR chart? Even I learn something everyday! Would an Excel chart on your own computer be easier to find?

Yeah, there is. I've charted there, but it's so unbelievably hard to navigate. The site seems like it was designed when the internet first came out or something. Even though it's so cumbersome, I like it because it gives you prompts on what to put. Since I'm new, it's very helpful that it points out what to look for and what kinds of things to note. Once I get the hang of it, I think I'll switch to Excel or something that isn't so annoying to use, though.

Yes - I signed up for that a while back and it was a NIGHTMARE to navigate. NFPcharting is much much easier. Or an excel chart, that's good too.

Were the prompts helpful though (think as if it was your first time charting?) Now I'm interested in finding this thing and playing with it just to see what it does!

I really don't recall. It was confusing enough to just sign up for the service. They assigned me some obscure password and I couldn't even change it. I don't know what the password is now. Definitely go sign up though just to see if you think it's useful!
