Even though you're not charting at the moment, it's good to see you! How's the pregnancy going?
And just thought I'd brief you on the green/yellow babies here instead of in the other thread...for future reference. Green and yellow babies are only used for the 3 day count after Peak. Green if you're dry, but a baby to remind you that those days are still potentially fertile because they are part of the post-Peak 3 day count. Yellow if you have discharge, but it's significantly drier than the mucus before Peak - and again, a baby to remind you that those 3 days are potentially fertile. Here's an example of how they are used:
A short cycle, green babies used post Peak.
Delayed ovulation cycle, yellow babies used post Peak.
Normal cycle, both green and yellow babies used post Peak.
I miss posting here. I think I will stick around a little.
My pregnancy is going great. I am 16 weeks now. We have decided that the baby will be a surprise. I think it will be so exciting. I had a midwife appointment monday and didn't make it she is an hour and a half away and my car broke down when I was only 20 minutes from her. So now I go back the 12th.
I am still nursing Amara although I think she is almost done. I did take a few feeding away from her when I first got pregnant, as it was taking alot out of me, but she kept her special night nursing that she loves. She is starting to sleep through the night occassionally though so I think she is almost ready to be done. It will be 18 months on the 15th.
Thanks for the explaination, that makes alot of sence.
How is your pregnancy going? Do you know what you are having?

I start as soon as my bleeding stops...I like to establish my BIP long before the crazy return to fertility starts, cuz trying to establish it in the middle of all that is way harder. AND, my fertility tends to return early anyway.
But in general, it's up to you! Your chance of pregnancy is less than 2% if you meet the criteria for LAM:
1. Baby gets all nutrition from the breast
2. Baby is under 6 months of age
3. Mom has had no spotting or bleeding after 56 days post partum
You can wait to start charting until you no longer meet all those criteria. Or you can start right away just to get your BIP established, but there's no need to follow the rules as long as you meet the criteria for LAM. Some of my clients choose to follow the Early Day Rules anyway during that time, just to bump that 2% pregnancy rate down to 1% - but that's your call.
