And what do they think about it? Have you encountered misconceptions about it?

My husband and I are practicing Catholics so I used to think that people knew that meant we don't use birth control - but I'm learning most people assume everyone uses birth control. I think most people that know us fairly well know by now that we don't believe in using birth control but most probably don't know that we used NFP to conceive.
My co-workers were the most shocked to learn that my husband and I never used birth control - I think they were shocked because they then made the connection that we must not have had premarital sex which seems to be even more unbelievable than not using birth control.

My sisters and parents know, and that is it. They thought I was crazy at first, but after explaining some facts about NFP then they understood better.

I do not think anyone on James side of the family would understand at all LOL

My parents and one of my SIL. They think that I am crazy, but my SIL and brother just use condoms all the time because she is a B when she is on BC. I think that I have the upper hand on her. I think that she might come around. My parents just say to tell them when we have an oops. Were stronger than they think (now).

My mom knows, and I think that's pretty much it. I used BC for so long, I think people just assume I'm still on it. It doesn't come up too often.

I had an ob appointment yesterday, and I felt surprisingly embarrassed telling the nurse we were using NFP. I told her I quit the pill in May, and she asked, "So what have you been doing about birth control?" I sheepishly said, "Natural." She just made a note of it on the chart. I don't know why I felt silly saying it. I guess due to the medical setting, I figure they are more into medical means of BC. Whatever, it has worked!

I have told friend and my IL's. My family would think I was crazy if I told them. Some of my friends don't understand how I am charting without temping but when I go into it, their eyes kinda gloss over so I stop. LOL

Our family knows, and they seem to think we're lousy at it, LOL! After we had our fifth child, even DH's grandma told me that she and his grandpa used "foam".

Well the only people that know are dh (he doesnt care as long as i replenish our supply of condoms i think he will be ok with it - u know until i can be sure that i'm not fertile which will take a while i think), my best friend, and my sister. My sister called me up the other day and started telling me about how her boobs have been killing her and she's almost at a DD they are so swollen (we have been pretty well identical our whole lives, and i have a small B cup) so i told her that the same thing happened to me from being on cyclen (she's on it too) and i switched to a lower dose pill and it went away. I told her that i'm going without pill now to avoid the chemicals and she scoffed and said her bf would not touch her if she went off it! I mean i never really thought I had a choice either.....until i made the choice!!

I don't think I will tell anyone else in the family (i dont mind if sis tells our mom though - she's very cool), but the IL's want me to get pg SO BAD, I would hear about it even more than I do now if they knew that i was trying out "natural" birth control! heehee

I'm a happy Catholic. I came to the conclusion that birth control was just wrong, and then I found out the church didn't support it either, I didn't know until AFTER I made the decision...lol. That just validated it for me.
However, my mother was a convert, so none of my family is Catholic...either side, all Methodists. Which makes it hard to really have this conversation with them, so basically, my mother sorta knows...my father maybe? My dh obviously. And my MIL cuz she is married to a Catholic, and SORT OF Catholic herself...wasn't raised that way, but she raises her family that way. She doesn't know much about it, cuz she often asks me, "Well why not use condoms?" and things like that.
My friends, some of them know, but even though I have quite a few Catholic friends, I don't know anybody, but me, who practices it, it is kind of a bummer, I wish I had people to talk to!
