I know I get a little crampy after my annual exam. Could me checking my CM also be causing cramps? I'm right around ovulation now (according to my CM...egg white now after a few days of creamy), and I've had ovulation cramping before but not this intense. I feel like I normally do a few days before AF comes.
Checking CM shouldn't produce cramps, unless you're checking internally and being a little too rough with your cervix. That can do it. The work of the process of ovulation itself can cause cramping though too - either in the days leading up to it (from the ovaries being stimulated to release an egg), during ovulation when the ova ruptures through the ovary, or afterwards from the ova making it's way down the fallopian tubes.
